Your data stays with you.
Daily Driver was built with one privacy decision baked in from day one: no servers. There's no backend for us to lose, leak, or look at. Your tasks live on your device and in your private iCloud — and nowhere else.
What we collect
Nothing. Daily Driver has no server, no account system, and no analytics. We literally have no way to see what you're doing in the app.
Where your data lives
- On your device. Tasks, notes, projects, focus sessions and journal entries are stored locally first.
- In your private iCloud container. If you're signed into iCloud, the same data syncs to your iPhone and iPad through Apple's CloudKit. It sits inside your personal iCloud account — not ours.
Calendar access
If you grant calendar permission, Daily Driver reads your events on-device so it can show them alongside today's tasks. Calendar data never leaves your phone.
Microphone & speech recognition
Voice notes are optional. When you record one, audio is transcribed on-device using Apple's Speech framework. The recording and its transcription are stored locally and in your private iCloud container. Neither is uploaded to us — we don't have anywhere to upload them to.
Analytics & tracking
None. No Firebase, no Google Analytics, no third-party SDKs. The app makes no network requests of its own beyond CloudKit sync.
Third-party services
The only external service involved is Apple's CloudKit, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Notifications
Daily Driver schedules local notifications for task reminders and planning nudges. They're generated entirely on your device — no push servers in the loop.
Children's privacy
Daily Driver is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Since we have no email list, this page is the only channel we have to share changes.
